Let the guilt begin

School starts for me on Monday. That means one of two things in Blogville. Either:

1. I will be writing less because I will be busy with schoolwork.

or

2. I will be writing just as much, if not more, as a means of procrastinating my schoolwork.

I think #2 is a much more likely scenario.

I will also not get to enjoy watching tv and reading. Don't get me wrong, I will still do these things, I will just feel guilt while I am doing them which makes them less fun. That little voice in my head that says "Shouldn't you be studying or working on your paper instead?" is very loud and annoying.

Arms hurt, legs hurt, shoulders hurt, back hurts

Today is my second day of doing my new exercise DVD (Jillian Michael's 30 Day Shred.) Oh. My. Goodness. Words cannot describe the pain. It turns out I am a little out of shape. I spend the entire workout feeling like I am going to throw up or pass out. Either or. All the while Jillian is saying stuff like "Come on! Winners don't quit at the finish line!" as her size 0 self prances around.

I would like it better if she said stuff like "Can you believe I am making you do this? Isn't this boring and sweaty? Don't you wish we could quit?"
Now that I could relate to.

Thanks Ian

I have lots I need to post, including some super cute pictures of the kids in their wedding attire, but I am too lazy right now. So I will leave you with my latest conversation with Ian:

Ian: Mommy you don't look very good. I hope you aren't getting sick.

Me: No, I feel fine.

Ian (still eyeing me): Hmmm...I just really hope you aren't getting sick.

Thanks kid. That is just how good I am looking right now that even my three year old is expressing concern. Chandra and I would like to appear on a sister version of "What not to wear," and I am thinking it should happen sooner rather than later. (For my sake, not hers. She looks cute, not sickly like I apparently do.)

IT Support

I am not computer savvy. At all. There are so many things I would like to be able to do like edit pictures (crop, lighten, make my face less round) and just in general fix things when they go wrong. Anytime I ask someone how to do anything computer related, I try to listen to their answer but I just can't. It is like a wall goes up. My brain has a self-protective mechanism where it automatically filters out anything that might be too complicated for me.

Luckily, I have live-in IT Support (Karl) on hand. I have discovered some things about IT Support though. Tell him something like, "I can't get on the internet," or "the printer isn't working" and he is all over it. The service is great and we are up and running in no time. However, when I go to him with a request like, "do you want to help me organize these 534,620 pictures of the kids into a digital scrapbook complete with clip art and captions?" the service is somewhat lacking.

So yesterday I decided it would be really fun to make a cd of all of our favorite Christmas songs. When I told Karl he looked at me like I was insane. So I decided to be all independent and make it myself. I spent an hour on Bearshare searching for songs and adding them to my playlist. Feeling extremely pleased with my self I clicked 'burn.' Nothing happened.

I mentioned it to IT Support (secretly hoping he would just take my list and make it for me.) But no, I think he is trying to force me to do things for myself. Boo! He did offer this advice, " The something something has to be compatible with the something something something. Try googling something something something."
Yeah, I don't think that is going to work.

Update: IT Support looked at my laptop and he is not happy. Apparently Bearshare infiltrated my computer causing a whole host of problems. It took him an hour to fix. Oops. See, that is why I shouldn't be messing with things.

Elf yourself

Cha-Ba sent me an email with this video of the kids as dancing elves. See how Ian can suck on his fingers and do the Charleston simultaneously?

Ian laughed so hard when he saw it. He then decided we needed one with PaPa, one with the dog, one with Grandma. So we made a few and they were very amusing. I suggest everyone make one for themselves and if you have access to a picture of a crying baby, please use it. It will make you laugh. I happened to have one of a very sad Elizabeth that I used. If there is anything funnier than a crying baby in an elf suit square dancing, I don't know what it would be. Look:

She is so sad...but she can't stop clapping and dancing.
